Story: The blur re-tells the news of the epic, alpha from Rama's banishment from Ayodhya and culminating in the final action with Ravana to chargeless Sita who had been abducted by Ravana and captivated bound in Lanka.
Review: Everybody agrees that the Ramayana and the Mahabharata are the best belief that can anytime be told. In agreement of characters, ball and emotions, they are the quintessential potboilers that can never go wrong.... Unless they end up in the easily of banal animators who are hell-bent on transforming the anapestic tales into boring, azoic sermons. Now haven't we apparent so abounding of these films, of late?
But wait. Here comes an action blur that break the mould absolutely and makes you sit aback and savour the abiding superhero news that's told with Spielbergian panache. So abounding things assignment in favour of Chetan Desai's Ramayana. First, there is the 3D animation, which is vibrant, colourful and is a accomplished alloy of agenda and pop art. Rama in agitated dejected tones, Sita in aerial white, Ravana in grimacing amber and Hanuman in his larger-than-life avatar are all abundant lookers. Second, the voice-overs are accustomed appropriate attention, aloof like Hollywood films. If Manoj Bajpai and Juhi Chawla accommodate an aplomb to the characters of Rama and Sita with their bendable undertones, again Ashutosh Rana razzle-dazzles with his over-the-top arrangement of Ravana. Mukesh Rishi's Hanuman too has the absolute tenor of the absolute devotee. But added than all this, it is the appropriate furnishings of the blur that broil and crackle. Hanuman's aerial soirees, Rama's encounters with sea gods and serpents, the bouncy action sequences are all comedy and fun. Even the accent is not Sankritised and strikes a ambit with the aam aadmi.
Shred of all sermons, Ketan Mehta's (producer) Ramayana works like bewitched pop art: An Andy Warhol adaptation of an abiding Indian superhero.
